1. Undergraduate Degree award scholarship

The undergraduate Degree award scholarship is valued at £9,250 and is available for full-time entry onto one of the relevant undergraduate courses listed below at King's college. The scholarship awards will be paid in instalments over the duration of the degree. Subject to enrolment, a payment of £3,000 will be made in Year 1, Year 2 and £3,250 in Year 3.

  • Students from UK, EU and overseas applying for the appropriate full-time course are eligible for this scholarship.
  • Winning this scholarship will be influenced by applicants academic performance
  • The award only covers part of the annual tuition fees and applicants should ensure that they have sufficient means to cover the remaining tuition fees, as well as maintenance costs.
  • To be offered the award, you must also meet the following criteria: (a) accept King’s offer of a place as your firm (first) choice; (b) meet the conditions of your offer (if you firmly accept an unconditional offer you are automatically deemed to have met the conditions of your offer); and (c) enrol as a full-time student on the appropriate course.

Application procedure:

There is no separate application procedure for the scholarship. All individuals who have submitted a complete UCAS application no later than 31 January will automatically be considered for the scholarship.

2. School of Global Affairs Postgraduate Scholarship

The School of Global Affairs Postgraduate Scholarship comprise of two awards which are valued at £11,040, these awards are available for KCL graduates for 2022/23 full-time entry onto one of the relevant master's courses listed below

The relevant courses covered by this scholarship are:

Eligibility:

  • Only KCL students in their final year of the listed undergraduate courses in the School of Global Affairs are eligible, irrespective of whether they are from the UK, EU or overseas.
  • Applying from:
  • > Geography BA/BSc
    > Global Health & Social Medicine BA/BSc
    > International Development BA
  • Applying to a relevant master's course.
 

 Application procedure:

There is no separate application procedure for the scholarship. If you have submitted a complete application by midnight (UK time) on 31 March in the given year, you will automatically be considered for the scholarship.

A fully completed application includes a complete online application form and all supporting documents. This includes personal statements, Record of Agreed Results to date, references and IELTS certificates where appropriate. All materials must have been submitted via the Postgraduate Admissions Portal by the due time and date.

The relevant panel will decide the top candidate and award the scholarship. The successful candidates will be notified by early September at the latest, to include all results for the given year.

3. Global Health & Social Medicine Postgraduate Scholarship

The Global Health & Social Medicine Postgraduate Scholarship is offered by the Department of Global Health & Social Medicine, it is a one master’s award, valued up to £11,040 (Home fees), for 2022/23 full-time entry for one student onto their relevant course.

The relevant courses covered by this scholarship are:

Eligibility

  • All students are eligible, including those from the UK, EU and overseas.
  • The top candidate will be selected based on previous academic performance, relevant experience (where appropriate) and the personal statement indicating reasons for applying to the particular course.

 Application procedure:

There is no separate application procedure for the scholarship. If you have submitted a complete application by midnight (UK time) on 31 March in the given year, you will automatically be considered for the scholarship.

A fully completed application includes a complete online application form and all supporting documents. This includes personal statements, transcripts, references and IELTS certificates where appropriate. All materials must have been submitted via the Postgraduate Admissions Portal by the due time and date.

A departmental panel will decide the top candidate and award the scholarship. The successful candidate will be notified by 15 May at the latest in the given year.

4. Newsweek Global Leadership MSc Scholarships

The Newsweek Global Leadership MSc Scholarships  are offered by the African Leadership Centre, it is awarded to two master’s students,  and is valued up to £24,660 (International fees), for 2022/23 full-time entry for international students onto the Global Leadership and Peacebuilding MSc, as well as the additional £400 cost of the Leadership Weekend Workshop that is a compulsory component of the programme. Successful candidates will receive stipends to cover their living expenses in the UK. This funding has been provided by Dr Dev Pragad, the CEO of Newsweek, an alumnus of King’s College London.

The relevant courses covered by this scholarship are:

Eligibility

  • International students applying for the full-time programme who will be present in London throughout the academic year. Students from developing world countries are encouraged to apply.
  • The award is open to change-makers within their communities who are interested in any and all aspects of Global Leadership and Peacebuilding in the developing world. Applicants should be clear about why studying this programme will help then enact transformative change within their societies of interest. Recipients will be selected based on merit and a personal statement outlining the financial impact the scholarship will have.

 Application procedure:

All applicants should complete the King’s College London online application process for the MSc Global Leadership and Peacebuilding. The personal statement submitted for that MSc application must include: a brief sentence stating that you have also applied for this specific award and a statement of the financial impact that this scholarship will have for them. In addition, applicants need to submit a 1-2 minute video recording of themselves to alc@kcl.ac.uk. Videos longer than 2 minutes will be deleted and not considered for applications. The video should include the applicant explaining: Why they are applying to the programme; What they see as the most pressing global leadership and peacebuilding challenge that is relevant to their personal context or area of interest; The change they want to make in relation to that issue; How they think the content of the MSc programme can enable them to make that change. When sending the video, include your student application number and the title of the funding that you are applying for in the email subject title.

5. Richemont International Scholarship

The African Leadership Centre is offering one master’s award, valued up to £11,040 (Home fees), for 2022/23 full-time entry for one student onto the Global Leadership and Peacebuilding MSc, as well as the additional £400 cost of the Leadership Weekend Workshop that is a compulsory component of the programme. This funding has been provided by Richemont International, a long-term friend of King’s College London and the African Leadership Centre.

The relevant courses covered by this scholarship are:

Eligibility

  • African students in the UK applying for the full-time programme who will be present in London throughout the academic year. The student must be of African heritage who is eligible for home fees funding. Please note recipients are expected to cover their living costs throughout the programme.
  • The award is open to African change-makers within their communities who are interested in any and all aspects of Global Leadership and Peacebuilding. Applicants should be clear about why studying this programme will help then enact transformative change within Africa. The top candidate will be selected based on merit and the overall standard of their application.

 Application procedure:

All applicants should complete the King’s College London online application process for the MSc Global Leadership and Peacebuilding. The personal statement submitted for that MSc application must include: a brief sentence stating that you have also applied for this specific award; as well as an explanation of how you intend to fund your studies if you are unsuccessful in for this funding. Applicants also need to submit a 1-2 minute video recording of themselves to alc@kcl.ac.uk. Videos longer than 2 minutes will be deleted and not considered for applications.
