Scholarship Overview

CIFAR welcomes excellent early-career researchers from the natural, biological, and social sciences, as well as the humanities, to join the CIFAR AZRIELI Global Scholars Program, our multidisciplinary research initiatives that address some of the most pressing issues confronting science and humankind. CIFAR is sponsored by the governments of Canada, Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec, as well as international partner organizations, individuals, foundations, and companies.

The CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholars program is comprised of three major components, each of which contributes to the formation of tomorrow's research leaders: Participating in a CIFAR Research Program - A,  Fellows' Interdisciplinary Network, Improving Leadership and Communication Skills and Increasing Academic and Non-Academic Impact.

A postgraduate degree in the natural, biological, and social sciences, as well as the humanities.

Scholarship value

The scholarship is $100,000 over two years.

Eligibility

Eligible candidates must meet the following:

  • Applicants may be from any country in the globe.
  • Applicants must have a PhD (or equivalent) and be within the first five years after beginning a full-time research post in a higher education or research institution.
  • The research interests of scholars should match the topics and aims of a CIFAR recruitment research program.
